It seems to me that this is becoming more and more dangerous. With the latest declarations of Russia and now with this one we are watching the beggining of a block (whith Russia, China, North Korea and Iran in one side and western countries, Japan and Australia on the other side). I hope that this are not the early steps for an emerging war...
With Putin declaringh that he is not going to seek another term, I'm afraid of who will take his place. This will be a turning point. Putin's successor will have to take a stand with either the west or these rogue nations - Putin tried to play both sides which has frustrated the international community enough that they will force Russia into full commitment or no commitment.
That's really worrying. In the past, we'd complain about the United State's role on being a world leader. Today, it seems those days are gone. I, personally speaking, would prefer so much the United States world leading role to threats from undemocratic, peace-hating countries such as North Korea, China or Russia.
